Cee Lo puts Erin Martin against The Shields Brothers. They both look dumbfounded, as he assigns them "What's Love Got to Do With It." Bye-bye, Shields Brothers. It was nice forgetting that you existed, and that time you wanted to punch us in the face. I really hate when they do groups against a solo artist, it is just weird. Erin worries that she's going to get drowned out by the rockers, and she fights for every note, and pouts along the way. Poor gorgeous girl is just used to getting what she wants by smiling and flirting.
Babyface works with The Shields Brothers, who spend the majority of their time screaming. Babyface thinks he's stuck in Wayne's World, but without the party time and excellentness, and more of the basement dwelling. Babyface requests vulnerability, which is met with some resistance, but they do it, when they aren't just yelling at the television. Erin does this odd lisp thing at the beginning, and Ne-Yo says that he doesn't believe she's emotionally attached to the song. She also isn't bringing the sexy to the song. She doesn't understand how they can't find her sexy. Ne-Yo says she's a cute girl, but she needs to bring more. Make her work for it, Ne-Yo. You know Cee Lo would just hand her the prize right now if he could.
Erin is wearing lingerie with giant shoulder pads, clearly playing to Cee Lo's weakness. The Shields Brothers are all greasy and unkempt and clad in leather. No surprises there. I'd love it if the blonde one just brushed his hair once. This is the most fucked up match-up. Erin is doing her best Bjork (if Bjork went slutty), complete with random squeaks and everything. And the boys are doing watered down metal like as if Beavis and Butt-head joined this reality show.
Adam says this was some cracked out shit, in a slightly nicer way, he's laughing so much he can barely get out his criticism. He says that Erin gyrated too much and overshadowed her voice. Blake is glad she wore this ensemble, because he's married and looking at scantily clad girls is his big vice. I'm so sure Miranda will be glad to hear that. Christina loved the weirdness, and she leaned towards Erin but The Shields Brothers won her over. Cee Lo is grinning from ear-to-ear that he created this brand of crazy. He worries that The Shields Brothers are one-note, and that Erin didn't get to shine on this song. Unsurprisingly he picks Erin. That ridiculously obvious conclusion was a waste of the last 15 minutes.
