Team Cee Lo and Team Christina sing "Drive By" by Train, with more successful staging than the other group performance. It also raised my opinion of Dez Duron just a little bit, but it's too little too late. Other highlights include Diego Val's hilariously ill-fitting pants and Nicholas David singing "my love for you went viral." It's so unnatural. Overall, Team Cee Lo was much more charming than the affected, overly-showy Team Christina. Team Christina could stand to shed a couple hundred pounds in the form of Devyn Deloera and Adriana Louise.
"Team Christina, your time has come," Carson says, feeling more important by the minute. Looking over Team Christina's performance this week, I would like De'borah and Sylvia Yacoub to stick around. I suppose Dez can stay too, just to keep the ultra-wide crew neck t-shirt people in business.
Even though they will ultimately come in fourth place, America likes Dez Duron and Sylvia Yacoub the best out of Team Christina. Devyn Deloera is looking over at Carson like a grumpy junkie. Christina flourishes her fan, and with little more than an "Ole," she chooses Adriana Louise, because she hasn't yet shown what she can do, Christina says. But remember what Joselyn said -- we don't have to actually win anything to be winners. Losing sucks, though.
Will there be enough time for Cee Lo to even make a choice? I suppose they saved him for last because he's a man of few words, and few wasted emotions. I absolutely want Nicholas David, Mackenzie Bourg, and Trevin Hunte to move forward. Diego and his bullshit "Bailamos" should not move on. I love Cody Belew, too, so this sucks.
The two artists America chose are Trevin Hunte, in his cool space vest, and Nicholas David. America chose... wisely. With only two minutes remaining, Cee Lo is pressured into saving just one artist. He tells his contestants that this experience is iconic and plentiful and no one leaves empty-handed. They will all leave with the silver and gold of Cee Lo's love. Cee Lo is the best human. Cee Lo chooses his "most-improved" artist, and goes with Cody Belew. It really touches my heart, but also makes me sad that we have to say goodbye to Mackenzie Bourg and his enthusiastic father. Mackenzie has a better shot of doing it on his own, though.
Overall, I think "America" did a good job and Carson should stop gesturing with his hands so much. Like, he's really overdoing it. But Carson is also improving, like some of the coach's choices tonight, so we have to be patient as we move one step closer to finding The Voice, and The Appropriate Amount of Gesturing.
