And the zombies take over the prison with its now-useless fences, one of them stepping on the chess king with its Sharpie eyepatch lying on the ground, which the Governor must have had in his pocket just for that last bit of symbolism. And another one looks familiar, because it's Rick's old friend from the season premiere, still wearing her husband's suit jacket and actually looking cleaner than when she was alive. Finally, at the treeline outside and up the hill from the prison, in an image straight from the comic, Rick chokes out, "Don't look back, Carl. Just keep walking." Grieving, exhausted, defeated, wounded, no ammo, no food, no transportation, no supplies, no friends, nowhere to go. 'Kay, this was fun, see you in February!
