Detail office. The cops have regrouped after their day of interrogations, McNulty reporting that their best progress so far has been in turning White Mike; Rhonda's going to see if she can push him any further. Kima adds that Herc and Carver are still looking for Nick. Daniels nods, saying that he assumes that even if the "drug players" roll, the most they'll give the cops are Sergei and Eton: "The case gets thin when we get up to this, um...this Spiros Vondopoulos." Bunk makes a half-assed crack about crazy Greek names, and McNulty just as half-assedly tells him to lay off the Greeks: "They invented civilization." "Yeah?" says Bunk. "Ass-fucking, too." Hey, I think he read the same compendium of Truly Tasteless Jokes that I did...in the fourth grade. Daniels moves past this debate, asking what they know about Spiros. Kima says that they should stay on him, to "see who he really is." Daniels looks over at Fitz, wilting on a couch, and asks if they can have some FBI surveillance teams. Fitz sighs, remind them that he's the only fed still in the room: "The U.S. Attorney has what he wants with the union guys, which means my field office is pretty much over this case." Daniels rolls his eyes exhaustedly, and says he guesses they'll go after Spiros themselves. Hey, start with figuring out why I spent the season thinking his last name was "Vondas."
