Evidence. Bunk rolls in and gives Burns, the officer at the desk, a list of items he needs for the Gant case. When the other dude has gone to retrieve the items Bunk needs, Bunk looks around, probably wishing he'd brought a magazine, until in walks...Daniels! Oh shit, and he's down to shirtsleeves -- they fucking sent him to Evidence! Bunk looks at him in utter shock (and maybe a little terror, that this could happen to an excellent, probably only slightly crooked cop like Daniels); Daniels greets Bunk, shaking his hand, but his face is completely closed down. Bunk says that he'd heard that Daniels had been posted there: "But I mean, you know, damn." Well, yeah. Daniels looks down. Bunk: "These motherfuckers don't play, do they?" Daniels briefly sucks his cheeks, and flatly asks what Bunk is doing there. Bunk tells him about the Gant case, and that Bird is about to come to trial. "You give him my love," says Daniels dryly. Bunk chuckles, and Daniels finally cracks a smile. Burns returns, and calls out to Bunk, "No evidence." "What do you mean, no evidence?" asks Daniels. Burns explains that the section Bunk's slip specifies doesn't exist. Did they check the snipe cabinet?
Bodie -- still listening to Garrison Keillor, hee -- is driving to his destination when he ends up at a detour around road construction. Cursing under his breath, he follows the arrows, trailed by the white van, and the black SUV. He finally pulls into a back lot enclosed by chain-link fencing, the white van right on his ass. The passenger in the SUV makes a call: "He's here." Surprise party?
