Bad neighbourhood. Arch is still holding court over his junkie quorum while Bubbs surveils him. After a moment, he sees a cop car, lights flashing, come around the corner, and flags it down, before going back to his carts and showily pushing them past the alley to flush out Arch. When Arch comes over, Bubbs goads him into attacking him, so that the cop will have something to bust when he stops...but of course, it isn't Herc, and the car drives past, leaving Arch to beat Bubbs with a pipe and take his cash and pills. Bubbs lies on the ground, bleeding, and cursing Herc's probably quite closely related parents.

Detail office. Little Kevin's eating Peanut M&Ms, carefully setting aside the orange ones, saying he doesn't like them. Herc gets impatient and grabs the bag away, telling him they know he didn't act alone on Lex. Little Kevin reads between the lines (which, with Herc, are never really all that close together anyway): "You mean Randy?" Herc is just smart enough not to confirm Little Kevin's suspicions, but sits guiltily, saying that if Little Kevin doesn't give the cops Lex's murder, someone else will, and will sell out Little Kevin. He throws back the candy, whereupon he utterly loses Little Kevin's attention again.
