"Might As Well Dump 'Em, Get Another"

Elsewhere, Kima comes up on a stop sign. Bubbs hasn't spotted Arch, but asks her to drive around another avenue where he's seen Arch before. Kima says she hasn't got "all fucking day" to drive him around, since she's on shift work now. Bubbs desperately says that he's been having nightmares about Arch, and Kima's heart softens again: she says that if Bubbs wants to work, she'll call Herc and Sydnor to hook him up with someone in Narcotics, and then they can help him out with Arch. She asks Bubbs to show her where he's living so that Sydnor and Herc can find him. If I were Bubbs, I might lie rather than owe Herc anything, but he's so desperate that he agrees.

Renaldo and Omar are staking out Andre's store (and get an eyeful of Randy and Dukie coming around a corner, not that they seem to care). Renaldo reminds Omar that he'd told Bunk he wouldn't kill anyone else, but Omar says he can still stick his gun in Andre's face: "That man got some explaining to do." Ah, obeying the letter of the oral contract and not the spirit. Brilliant! A man really does have to have a code. He says that it's dead out and tells Renaldo to drive on, which they do...

...right past the field Randy and Dukie are cutting through, Randy complaining that Prez doesn't think they're trustworthy. Dukie doesn't say anything either way, possibly since he's been given plenty of reasons not to trust people in his life. Randy says that they just need to make enough for the first candy order and they'll be all set. Fortunately, they happen upon a knot of people shooting dice against a wall. Randy says he's in. A guy tells him to get lost, but when Randy produces his cash, the guy changes his mind and lets Randy in. And thanks to Prez's awesome odds lessons, Randy wins immediately. Who knew math could ever have real-world applications?!
