"Business. Always Business."

...and into the desolate hiring hall. La La stands. Nick shrugs, "Where the fuck else am I gonna go?" That's true; the Port of Philadelphia is no safer. Nick asks, "How's it looking?" La La tells him that there isn't much else today beyond a ship at Northpoint that was already claimed by the "greybeards." "Seniority sucks," sniffs Nick. "If you ain't senior," La La agrees. Nick leaves the hall, passing one of Frank's campaign flyers on the way out, and takes an appraising look up and down the street before trudging off.

Nick walks along a fence, Mason's car following at a discreet distance, and stops to loop his fingers through the chain-link; he can't look at the grain pier for long before closing his eyes. Steve Earle's "I Feel Alright" starts up as we see...

...a marshal lighting a smoke beside the padlocked I.B.S. hall...

...Johnny Fifty showily peeing on the container, making sure the port cops parked nearby are watching, and moves on, flipping them off...

...Rhonda at a hearing for (among others) Eton and Horseface...

...an office assistant, in Homicide, turning the fourteen Jane Does from red to black on the board, while Rawls and Jay watch and giggle like they had anything to do with it...

...Ziggy being walked down a hall with a bunch of enormous cons...

...Krawczyk presiding over a groundbreaking ceremony for The Grainary, also attended by Clay Davis, among others...

...Beadie, back in her uniform and headphones, driving sadly through the port, and pausing outside Frank's former trailer...

...Lester, at the detail office, dismantling Prez's board; the last photo, of "THE GREEK?," is still identified with no more detail than they ever had. Finally, Lester puts a lid on the box containing all the cards and photos, and walks out of the empty office, turning off the lights behind him...

...white kids and black kids selling drugs to white kids and black kids, while an old neighbourhood lady is powerless to stop them...

...stevedores drinking out of brown paper bags on a corner...

...Prop Joe checking on his product, supplied by Spiros's new guys...

...another truck, disgorging a new batch of trafficked women to a new black SUV...

...shots of the piers, in very quick succession...

...ending back on Nick, staring at everything Frank tried to accomplish, only to fail, and moving on to his extremely uncertain future. I hope Aimee's even still in the hotel room when he gets back.
