Pit. Bodie and Poot convene a meeting to discuss some "off-brand nigger" called Onion -- the most satirical motherfucker on the Westside, I assume -- who's trying to horn in on Barksdale territory with "some shit they call yellow tops." Oh, whoops; I mentioned that in the last recap. I thought it was a generic term -- you know, like "yellow tops" is the "Kleenex" of dope. But apparently not, as Sterling (I think) appears to toss Bodie a baseball bat, which Bodie uses to take a shot at Onion. His guys all scramble, and Bodie yells, "Do what you feel, but be ready to finish what you start. What you doing? This ain't no open market, you know that." "Ain't no market at all, nigger," one of the guys shoots back. "You ain't got shit to sell. Back that ass up for those that do." It's a fair point, if you ask me, but instead of conceding the point in a gentlemanly way, Bodie opts to...beat the shit out of the encroachers. We cut to a view of the proceedings from far off, and through a car windshield, accompanied by sounds of snacking. "See, that's why we can't win," comments Carver, behind the wheel. Herc doesn't get it, and asks why not. "They fuck up, they get beat. We fuck up, they give us pensions." I think I can almost hear Mahone giggling at that observation. In the end, the Barksdalies hold the front. Smell ya later, Onion!
