Sometime later, it's time for sentencing. Avon's up first, and Ronnie charges him with one count of possession with intent to distribute -- to wit, a kilogram of heroin. As she reads the charge, we see the various players: Avon in the dock with Levy, the henchmen arrayed behind him, and McNulty in the gallery, close to the door, just as he was when we started. Ronnie blahs some more about what we already know -- how the cops knew to stop D'Angelo based on what they'd heard on the wire -- and we see Stringer and Brianna sitting together; the former looks thoughtful, the latter stiff and uncomfortable. And then we see D'Angelo, sitting with the rest of the henchmen, and not looking nearly as amused or casual as the rest of them do. As Ronnie gets to the part where the cops found the heroin in the spare tire in the trunk, we see Stringer turn around to look at McNulty, witnessing the sentencing first-hand. Once Stringer's turned back around, McNulty gets up and stomps out of the courtroom.
