There's another awkward pause, and then Norman asks about her appearances for the day: she has one in the afternoon, and then later will be onstage with Carcetti and their kids at a fundraiser that night. Norman's like, "Well, if I can't comment on Jen's dowdy haircut and sweater, I'm out of conversational topics," and decides to go try to rouse Carcetti. Jen advises a kick in the ass. I can't say I wouldn't like to see that.
