Anyway, the briefing breaks up, and Lester thoughtfully asks Kima what story they tried to use with Connections. "Out-of-town salesman," mutters Kima, obviously well aware that the story is pretty lame. "How far out of town?" asks Lester. McNulty asks what he means, and Lester explains, "The further out of town, the more they believe -- [the] less like a cop you sound." Alert it is! Lester: "You do any accents?" It would be perfect if McNulty knew a little conversational Inuktitut, but Lester suggests that McNulty try "English, British, Scottish." Yeah, I think he cna probably handle that. Hilariously, Dominic West tries out an accent that runs the gamut from cockney to Welsh to Steve Irwin (may he rest in peace), and Lester and Kima crack up, Lester advising him to work on it. I'm sure it's not the first time West's heard that about his accent on the set of The Wire.
