In the computer room at the detail office, we're hearing that "I'll get to you when I get to you" recording, again. Lester exposits to Carver, "The incoming caller's the guy who runs the main stash for Barksdale's people." Sydnor asks who he is, but Lester says they don't know. "So y'all are just guessing he's on the stash, right?" Lester, sounding hurt, insists, "No, he's on it!" McNulty hands a book to Sydnor, explaining, "Lester was checking the logs when he picked up the pattern." Lester: "Every time they get down to the ends on a package, somebody in the Tower hits that pager number." McNulty picks it up: "Then, within a half-hour, every fucking time, a call comes back to the Tower pay phone from that number in Pimlico." Okay, so maybe it's not the same recording, but all those calls sound exactly alike. Sydnor asks what the number is, and Lester says it belongs to a pay phone at a "Mondo Mart" in Reisterstown. Carver's examining the papers now, and Lester flips the first page back and forth: "You see it now?" Carver and Sydnor look totally flummoxed, so Lester takes his glasses off, I guess to make sure they don't get blown off his head in the flurry of exposition: "When the supply gets low, they page this mope, who always calls back from a pay phone way the fuck out in northwest. Same phone, same pattern." Sydnor finally puts it together that the Pimlico guy is taking the re-up order, and that the stash house is somewhere near the Mondo Mart. McNulty confirms his suspicions. Carver asks what they do with it. "What do we do?" asks McNulty, smirking back at Lester. Carver realizes the harsh truth, and tells Sydnor, "We're gonna be sitting on that pay phone in Pimlico all day and all night, waiting on Mr. Mondo Mart." "Herc too," says McNulty, before Sydnor even gets a chance to bitch about it. Carver says that Herc's out all week on in-service training, and Lester unsympathetically says that, in that case, Carver and Sydnor will each be pulling a twelve-hour shift, instead of the three eight-hours they'd get to do if Herc were going to be there. "Just fucking kill me now!" huffs Carver. He stomps out, McNulty chuckling, probably remembering when he had to do all the shit jobs. Kima enters, asking whether they've heard from Omar, which they haven't. Kima says she'll go try to find him, and asks where McNulty's going to be. He produces a shot of Wallace, saying that there's been talk on the wire about how upset he is about Brandon, so McNulty's going to try to meet Wallace and see what's going on there.
