"Dope On The Damn Table"

Orlando's. D'Angelo rolls in to find Wee-Bey and Stringer, and frowns as he asks why the club isn't open. By way of answer, Stringer tells D'Angelo to go with Wee-Bey. He tosses a set of keys to Wee-Bey, ordering, "Keep it clean. Don't make no mistakes." D'Angelo knits his brow as Stringer throws back a couple of over-the-counter pain relievers, and Wee-Bey limps off to carry out Stringer's instructions. "Going where?" D'Angelo asks suspiciously. "What the fuck you waiting for?" mutters Stringer. D'Angelo spends a split second wondering how far he could get if he just took off at a dead run, what with Wee-Bey's bum leg and all, but finally decides not to fight his fate.

Detail office. McNulty's typing when he looks up to notice Bobby Reed making an apparently unprecedented visit to Daniels's office. Everyone watches through the window as Daniels and Reed murmur to each other, but it doesn't last: "Stop bullshitting me!" barks Reed presently. Daniels goes to answer, but Reed isn't waiting, and hoofs it out of there, leaving Daniels staring at the floor. McNulty and Lester roll into Daniels's office. "The main stash," Daniels ruefully reports. "He knows we're on it. He knows we held it back." "The Deputy," Lester guesses. He recalls how Burrell knew about Day-Day's arrest and Orlando's co-operation: "He's got a rat. Here. In the detail." McNulty stalks out, putting on his head-bustingest face, and Daniels is left to confess to Lester, "In the beginning, when we started, Burrell had me. I pipelined everything to that motherfucker. But now--" "He lost you," Lester surmises. "So now he's picked up someone else. That's how they do." The two gaze through Daniels's window at the possible suspects: Prez, Herc, Carver, Sydnor, and...Santangelo, quietly typing away in his guilty purple polo.
