In a hallway outside an interrogation room, Herc and Carver are coordinating their attack on Bodie. Carver's going to start out playing good; then it'll be over to Herc, playing bad. "I ain't gonna be playing," frats Herc. Carver grins, chucks Herc on the shoulder, and heads in. Prediction: disappointment.
Bodie looks up as Carver enters and pulls the door closed; he may have some fresh bruises and scrapes on his face, but it's hard to tell. Carver starts by asking if Bodie's handcuff is too tight; Bodie shrugs, because he hard like that, and Carver releases him, whereupon Bodie starts rubbing his wrist like everyone always does when their handcuffs come off. Carver sits in a corner, folds his arms, and comments that Bodie's "racking up all kinds of points": "First, you put a cop in the hospital, damn near kill his ass with that punch." Girl, please. Mahone is more than half-pickled from a lifetime of alcoholism, clearly; he's about as likely to die as Keith Richards. (Watch, Richards will totally die before I can get this recap posted, too.) Carver goes on: "Now you on the wing from Boy's [sic] Village." Bodie replies that he's sixteen: "What the fuck they gonna do to me?" Carver calls that the least of his worries: "I got a partner outside who can't wait to get in here and fuck you up." Bodie's like, "More than I already am? What's he going to do, decapitate me?" But Carver adds the detail that Mahone is Herc's uncle, which I'm sure is just as true as the sad tale of Gant's poor orphaned babies. Bodie looks like he might be buying it, though, as Carver adds that "Herc wants off the leash on this one." Bodie guesses that Carver's at the other end of that leash, and Carver smiles, leans forward, and "confides" that he doesn't want to play it that way: "I know about coming up hard and all." Bodie chews his lips: "What, you came up hard?" Carver names his stomping grounds as the "Flag House projects. Eastside." Bodie squints: "Flag House?" Carver says that Bodie reminds him of himself, and that he thinks they should work something out. Bodie asks what he'd get. Carver leans in closer, and asks, "What you want?" Bodie mirrors him, leaning in to say, "I want...for you to suck my dick." Okay, come on. Ray Charles saw that shit coming. Carver pounces on Bodie, yelling so much that Herc -- HERC! -- has to come in and pull Carver off Bodie, and as Herc hustles his partner out to the hall, Bodie calls after him, "You're supposed to be the GOOD cop, motherfucker!" Hee! But, bad move; both officers descend on Bodie and fuck him up some more.
