Back at the corner, Cutty approaches the head of sales -- you will recognize him as Fruit (Brandon Fobbs), and you will know that he is affiliated with Marlo. Fruit is not taking appointments today: "Step the fuck off, motherfucker," he says to Cutty, who notes that he's not here to buy, but to sell. He explains the drill: after getting out of prison, he got a package, doesn't want to violate his parole, and is looking for someone to take on the selling responsibilities. After some dickering on how to split up the proceeds, they agree on a 60-40 split in favor of Cutty. Maybe you want to have the boys from Legal formalize that agreement, fellas.
At the Western, Lt. Mello is finishing up briefing the troops with an admonition not to deposit their empty beer cans on the roof of the garage, and Bunny Colvin is getting ready to head home. He spots Herc and Carver filling out the paperwork on some more arrests. "Distribution?" Colvin asks, perhaps more hopefully than he should. "Possession," Carver says. "And some loitering." Colvin can barely mask his contempt at that last charge. "And behaving like assholes in the presence of sworn officers, boss," Herc interjects helpfully. Yeah, pretty sure that's not a crime there, pal. Or as Colvin says so eloquently: weary sigh.
