Bad Blood

Mulder and Scully trot over to meet Luke, Scully smiling widely. Mulder looks over at her and sticks his upper teeth out. She rolls her eyes. Luke calls out a greeting, wondering if they need any help. Mulder directs him to hang out with Scully and keep an eye on the cemetery, while he goes to check something out. "Don't say I never did nothing for ya," he whispers to Scully in a phony drawl, and takes off. "Where are you going?" Scully asks after him. "Where might you be living if your mail came General Delivery around here?" Mulder responds. "The RV park?" Luke wonders. "You're good," Mulder tells him, and takes off. Scully smiles pretty at Luke.

Squad Car. Luke pours Scully a cup of coffee from a thermos. She thanks him, wrapping her hands around the warm mug. Luke wonders conversationally what she thinks about vampires. "You mean, aside from the fact that I don't believe in them?" she asks. Luke smiles. "Yeah, aside from that," he says. Scully shrugs. "They're supposed to be extremely charming, seductive," she says, and wonders if they'd actually be like that if they did exist. "As Agent Mulder says, there are many different kinds of vampires," she smiles. Luke sort of agrees quietly and looks ahead thoughtfully for a moment. He shakes his head. "I really need to apologize to you about Ronnie," he says. "He makes us all look bad." Scully furrows her brow, but says nothing. She looks a little...altered. "He's just not who we are anymore," Luke continues. "I mean, we pay taxes, we're good neighbors. Old Ronnie, he just can't quite seemed to grasp the concept of low profile." Scully's eyes are very wide. Her head lolls back, giving Luke a good look at her long, white, unblemished neck. Luke takes her coffee cup out of her hand and looks out the window. "But though he may be a moron, he is one of our own," he says, finally, and turns to Scully, his eyes all vampy green. Scully opens her mouth, but no words come out.

RV park. Mulder walks from trailer to trailer, investigating stuff. Eventually, he trips over one of those plastic things that they stick on pizzas to keep the top of the box from sticking to the cheese. Mulder pockets it and opens the door of a nearby trailer. He goes inside and looks around, finally happening upon a coffin in the back. "Hellllo," he coos, opening it to find Ronnie, sleeping with his headphones on. "Sleeping late?" Mulder wonders. Ronnie opens his green, vampy eyes and reaches for him. After a brief struggle, Mulder manages to force the lid down. He sits on it, sort of riding the coffin like a mechanical bull, and starts reading Ronnie his rights. "Come on, cut it out, Ronnie," Mulder asks when Ronnie's struggling almost bucks him off. He looks out the window to see that the rest of Ronnie's vampy brethren are closing in on the trailer, their eyes glowing in the darkness. "Oh, damn," he says. Finally, he manages to use his handcuffs to jury-rig a lock on the coffin. He leaps off and casts around the RV for something he can use to fight the approaching undead. He grabs two breadsticks from the table.
