Stock shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Mulder and Scully pull up at the Reardon crime scene, in Marin County, California. They stroll into the back yard -- which, like Teena's yard, features a swing set. "It's like looking at a mirror image," Mulder comments. Scully looks at the medical examiner's report. This victim was married, with one daughter. Cause of death? Hypovolemia. Mulder strolls around the swing set and exposits that Dead Dad Reardon also had traces of digitalis in his blood, and puncture wounds similar to those on Dead Dad Simmons. Scully reads from the case file that, oddly enough, Mr. Simmons was killed exactly three hours after Mr. Reardon was. Mulder turns and looks at her. "That's Pacific Standard Time, Scully," he says. Mr. Simmons and Mr. Reardon were killed at exactly the same time. The agents stare at one another. Scully tells Mulder that this looks like a case of serial killers working in tandem. Mulder the Profiler reminds her that serial killers rarely work in pairs and that, when they do, they kill together, not separately. The two of them stand in the back yard and look around, quietly thinking. Scully pipes up that none of this evidence supports Mulder's cockamamie UFO theory. "Was Reardon's daughter here when he was murdered?" Mulder asks her, pointedly. "Yes, and she remembers nothing," Scully retorts. "Even money, she'll remember red lightning," Mulder says. Scully rolls her eyes.
