Cut to COMMERCIAL! Thank god! Will this ever end?
Cut to Bosco and Yokas sitting in their car, hiding somehow but watching from the side mirrors and waiting for two guys to break into a Ford Bronco. Yokas complains that they've waited for half an hour and they should go and give Sullivan a break. How about giving the audience a break? Out of nowhere, a cyclist comes over to them and says loudly, "Officer!" and the two guys run off and Bosco makes a face and then starts beating on the steering wheel. Mature much, Bosco? And the cyclist asks where FDR Drive is, and Bosco snarls, "Do I look like an information kiosk to you?" and Yokas gives the guy directions and then asks Bosco what his problem is, and Bosco is all, "They were gonna go for it!" and Yokas is all, "Oh, God forbid we prevent a crime." And I'm all, "Yokas -- will you beat his head into the steering wheel and knock some sense into him please?" And then Dispatch calls asking for assistance with two drunks fighting outside a bar, and Bosco tells Yokas that if they don't answer the call, Sully will, and they won't have to bother, and a few seconds later Sullivan answers the call like the type of cop that actually, I don't know, does his job or something.
Cut to the paramedics at their station; everyone is all, "What's that smell?" and they all look at their shoes, and Kim has a pile of something on her shoe, and she looks at Carlos and then swipes some of whatever is on her shoe and eats it, and Carlos is totally disgusted, and everyone starts laughing. You see, it was just peanut butter -- they were playing a prank on the new guy! Those paramedics -- what a group of crazy kids! Playing jokes on the new guy -- I never would have thought of that! But the hijinks don't last for long -- they get a call to go to a fire.
Cut to Sullivan and Ty, with Ty trying to break up the fight between the two drunks. Ty asks Sullivan if they should file cross complaints and Sullivan says, "Cross complaints?" and shows the drunks his radio and says, "This is a new mobile lie detector. This is going to tell us who is telling the truth." He puts the radio up to one of the drunks and asks, "Did you hit this gentleman first? Yes or no?" and the guy says no, and Sullivan turns up the squelch on the radio so it seems like the guy is lying. Hey, I never heard of any type of urban legend about someone being "hooked up" to a copier and told it's a lie detector or anything, so I'm sure the writers came up with this funny concept all on their own. What a novel idea! So anyway, Ty is trying to frisk the drunk guy and Sullivan suggests he stand farther away, and Ty is all annoyed and tells Sullivan that he doesn't have to tell him what to do, and then the drunk barfs on Ty. I didn't see that coming at all!
