For some reason, none of the Neutrogena commercials feature Jennifer Love Hewitt. Is it because they are for adult breakouts and she is still seen as a teenager? Or is it because her show is going off the air? Hmm, let's ponder that one.
Platypus packs up Mollie's stuff as Sarah watches a news report on Mollie's murder. Platypus says, "God, turn it off!" Sarah muses that Mollie's murder is all over every news report on the television and radio, and that it's probably on the front page of every paper. Platypus tells Sarah not to bring the papers back to the apartment, saying, "I don't want to see them." She goes on to say that she has to pick up Mollie's dad at the airport and walk him past all the newsstands, with Mollie's face on every paper. Sarah tells her that they'll probably be on the subway too, and suggests that Platypus take a cab to pick up Mollie's father. "I'll share one with you," Sarah offers. Platypus asks where Sarah is going, and Sarah tells her that she's going to bring Mollie's class roster down to the police station to Detective Douglas. Platypus asks anxiously if Sarah is coming back to the apartment afterwards. Sarah says she thought she would go into work, and then quickly asks if it's bad to pretend it's a day like any other day, "Because I don't know." Platypus shrugs and Sarah asks, "What are you supposed to do?"
At the police station, Sarah asks Douglas if he thinks it was someone Mollie knew. Douglas shakes his head and says he's just following up some leads. "You have to tell me what mistakes you think she made," Sarah tells him. Douglas pauses in his writing and looks up, "I'm sorry, what mistakes?" "Like, did people -- did witnesses say that they heard her screaming? I mean, did they say that they could hear her try to resist this guy?" Douglas says they don't have any witnesses that heard her screaming. "Right. See I'm just -- I feel safe here. In general, you know, pretty safe." Douglas stops his writing and settles down to listen to Sarah talk about herself rather than helping him with information about Mollie's murder. Sarah continues, "And I know some things to do. You know, I don't walk down an empty street alone. I cover my purse. I carry mugger money, you know, so you have something to give up. I mean, that's smart right?" Sarah looks to Douglas for affirmation. "Yeah," he says. Sarah continues, "Well, I'm just trying to figure out how she was careless. What she did wrong." Douglas just looks at Sarah's dinners.
