Chandler and Scott have their arms full of blueprints, and are clearly on a mission. There's a situation. They burst into a meeting between Jack and Peter as Heather tags along. Chandler wants to know why his budgets have been cut in half. Peter explains that, due to lousy fourth-quarter numbers (tonight's buzz phrase), all divisions are being asked to cut back. It's not just any old situation -- it's an emergency situation! Chandler and Scott beg for five more minutes to reorganize their whole division and make it more palatable. Jack agrees, but wonders why Heather's there. She has a vested interest, since she just gave all of Dress2Ugly.com's "monies" to Chandler. Well, then, what's the problem here?! The receptionist interrupts with an urgent phone call for Peter. It's Maureen, threatening to expose Peter if he's not at her house by eight o'clock tonight. Before hanging up, she makes him repeat the phrase "pleasure talking to you, Maureen." He grudgingly obeys, but Heather's been eavesdropping, and upon hearing Maureen's name, her eyes pop and her ears edge forward. I think she's figured it all out.
Gwen's place. Jack and Gwen have just enjoyed a lovely dinner and are now complementing it with a fine Cognac. Gwen shows Jack a picture that Laurie found in an old book. It's a horribly doctored photograph, put together by some intern who claimed to know Photoshop. It's supposed to be a young Jack and Gwen. Young Gwen looks petrified, while young Jack exposes a slight smirk. Despite all this, Laurie assumed that it was part of some romantic weekend long ago. Jack reveals that Richard beat him to the punch in proposing to Gwen, and that, two weeks later, he flew to Europe and stayed there. It's taken him all this time to admit that he loved her. You think they're about to kiss, but at the last second, they part ways.
Peter's giving it to Samantha when he suddenly remembers his appointment with Maureen. He makes up a lame excuse and promises to be back soon.
Peter arrives at Maureen's house and calls out her name as he enters. To his and our shock, Heather's there, and she figured everything out, thanks to Chandler's revelation that, for Peter, "no lie was too big in the pursuit of the opposite sex." Oh, but he was so careful. Not careful enough to leave Maureen's contact info out of his Rolodex, though. It probably would have helped if had made up another name for Maureen in his charade. Laziness will get you every time. Heather paid Maureen $10,000 to reveal the truth. To add insult to injury, she mocks Peter for his meager thousand-dollar offer by telling him that "even a gardener wouldn't stay quiet for that pittance." "Pittance"? My stars and garters, I daresay he wouldn't. In exchange for her silence, Heather wants to regain total control of Dress2K.
