With that the judges dismiss the contenders and send them to the stew room to ...er, stew. Daily Candy Dannielle thinks Yigit had a perfect progression, but no one cares because what exactly are her qualifications? So Hubert Keller talks instead. He thought Yigit showed repertoire and skill. Danielle did the best job in the actual progression and Johnny thought the underdog would win based on her first dish. Gail is going to spend many a night dreaming of her Baked Alaska. Morgan also went all out with his excellent technique. Gail thinks they all executed their progressions and it will just come down to execution and details.
Gail calls everyone back in and reminds them of the stakes: $100,000 and a car, American built, yo. Johnny congratulates everyone and says they make him proud to be a pastry chef. Oddly, Morgan doesn't tear up over that. Johnny tells Danielle that she picked the right moment to hit her stride and really impressed them tonight with her sophistication and execution. Yigit had amazing technique and while he sometimes showed a lack of restraint he found the right balance tonight. Morgan will push himself harder than anyone else will ever push him. That paid off tonight. Gail announces the winner ...very...slowly. The....winner...is...YIGIT. He collapses in joy, Morgan hugs him. The other contenders stream in and Zac leaps on Yigit and screeches like a howler monkey. Morgan claims that there is no one he would rather lose to. Danielle knows Yigit can do things with pastry she can't even dream of. Yigit is thrilled that he won and drives off into the sunset with Gail at his side in his Buick Regal. And thus endeth Top Chef: Just Desserts.
