As the team works, Judge Johnny comes for his bi-annual sniff n' sneer. Johnny is as ebullient as the other chefs, but with an undercurrent of superiority and aloofness, obviously. This attitude is probably based on jealousy, because holy frijole this opportunity is kind of amazing! I mean, isn't this what pastry chefs dream of as they drift off to sleep and are sick of sugar plums dancing through their heads? I wish I knew how to bake, temper, cook, fry, or anything useful so I could recreate it in my living room. I also wish that my damn transfer to the land of Dairy Queen would come through and I could blow this popsicle stand. Johnny doesn't like Craig's idea or Megan's idea or Melissa's idea. When Judge Johnny makes his last derogatory comment about the chefs' plans, he calls for attention and once everyone is watching him, he announces that not one, but two chefs will be eliminated today. Gah, that guy will do anything for attention.
Katzie is making a beehive and a garden patch and, according to Orlando, a giant-ass mess. Orlando is not impressed with her technique, but when you need to decorate an entire room in a few short hours, you may as well fling some cotton candy around, right? Poor doofy Craig has managed to finish his Gummi bears, but only with Sally's begrudging help. His first few bears were Amorphous Blob that looked like with a few blasts of gamma rays they would probably try to take over the world. Melissa is hard at work on her green doughnut cactus, but she is pitching a fit that the creative team isn't doing their part and she has to build her own doughnut plant or something. Does anyone listen to Melissa when she is complaining? No, because then they would have to be listening to her ALL THE TIME and no one wants to do that. As the last fifteen minutes of the day make their inevitable appearance, the creative team and especially Megan, are struggling to finish their individual dishes. I told you not to volunteer for interior design duty! This show does not reward the whole "taking one for the team" thing. There is a lot of frantic scurrying and then time is up.
