Katzie tells the judges that they took a whimsical approach to music hall. Johnny thinks that the musical instruments, because they are so literal, come off looking sloppy. Gail thinks that they should have scaled back their design. Katzie presents her buttermilk cake with black currant jam and pistachio buttercream. Margaret likes the taste but Johnny thinks it's maybe too moist. Amanda gives a devil's food cake with raspberry gelee, chocolate buttercream and praline feuilletine. Margaret doesn't like the fruit, but Hubert likes the texture. Vanarin made a smoke salted caramel cake with pistachio buttercream that is declared dry.

The judges feel that Carlos's team achieve a cohesion. Johnny doesn't like the color though, which Sally interviews is Carlos's fault. Carlos presents his vanilla sponge cake with lemon cream and strawberries. Johnny is surprised that, given that it's the top tier, the cake is so dense. Gail likes the vanilla flavor. Sally gives her devil's food cake with chocolate buttercream, salted caramel and raspberry realness. Johnny loves that she used fresh raspberries and Gail thinks the cake is really good. Now, it's time for Rebecca's devil's food cake with whipped caramelia ganache and almond dacquoise. Margaret thinks that the texture, while neat to look at, causes mechanical problems.
The judges confer. Margaret thinks that you could tell how all of them worked as a team. They return to the judges' table.
