MPDP helps Hildi with the shoji screen, which is going in the big hole masquerading as a shelf.
Laura comes in with an armload of blinds, saying she found some neon green blinds for the walls. She's kidding, one hopes. Frank is painting a sort of mural on the face of the fireplace: weedy, grassy-looking stuff. Laura thinks it looks great. He's put a small pile of seashells at the base of the painting, and will do a similar deal on the other side of the opening.
Hildi says they're going to use raffia to make the "screen" part of the shoji screen, and then they'll paint it all dark brown.
Tim is reinstalling the ceiling fan. Laura and Frank rag on him for how long he's taking; Frank tells Laura that "he filled out his Social Security papers while he's up there!" You'll have to fill out mine, too, if this season doesn't end soon.
Hildi staples the raffia to the frame.
Tim helps Amy Wynn build the coffee table.
Hildi and MPDP are half done. They admire their work.
Tim gets to use the nail gun. He's very excited. He thinks his father would be so proud.
Hildi and Jennifer work on making five Roman shades for the room.
Frank and his team are draping hunks of fishnet around the room, across the blinds. Fishnet? There's beach, and then there's wharf. MPDP comes along and says it's a theme room to the nth degree. Frank: "Like Orlando isn't?" That doesn't mean that everyone who lives there wants to live in something just as tacky. Anyway, I've seen theme-ier rooms.
Hildi's got some really weird, ornate rod to staple the blinds to. It doesn't strike me as really going with the rest of the room.
Frank keeps messing with the nets.
Hildi says she's only sewing the rings in the shades every twenty inches, because she doesn't have time for more.
PaigeCam. Tim and Amy Wynn have taken it upon themselves to make a little side table that matches the coffee table as a surprise for "Uncle Frank." On this tape you can really see that Amy Wynn's wearing a ton of makeup. Frink wonders about that, and I told him I think it's because I heard they're shooting the show in high definition now. Frink: "Well, she doesn't need it."
Dennis and Jennifer frame black-and-white pictures of rice fields. Hildi took the pictures in Indonesia.
