Michael plays guitar while Amy sings. They're in a band. Amy's the one whose name is given on the site as "Lexi" for reasons that, like many things in this episode, are not explained. Amy says she does a lot of cooking and that there's not much room to do that. It looks like they're being interviewed in their living room. They, too, have an older house with a nice-looking staircase. Their kitchen is a medium green. It's got an ugly old yellowy vinyl floor and at least five doors or entrances and three windows that break up the wall space. There's a small wooden table with six chairs in the middle of the room. There's not much built-in storage; they have a hodgepodge of freestanding units and open shelving. Amy says she has to go in the other room to pick out her dishes. Michael says there is no drawer or cabinet space in the kitchen, and that it's not very functional. The open shelves are crammed with appliances and cooking vessels. They seem to have at least two of many things: looks like two breadmakers, two waffle irons or grills, etc. Amy would like to see a floor that's not peeling and a different light fixture. Right now, they've got one of those horrible huge fluorescent lights. There's one set of cabinets under the sink and a bit of countertop space around that, but not much more. All the woodwork and at least of one of the doors have been painted a dark brown, which just looks awful. Do not paint woodwork brown. It just looks like you're pretending it's stained wood. It's even worse when it surrounds some actual stained wood, as some of the doors in this room are. The overall effect of the room is dark, dull, and dingy, though I'll bet it looks worse on TV than it does in real life. Still. The major appliances are distributed around the room, cheek and jowl with the various pieces of furniture that have been pressed into duty as cabinets. With the table in the middle of the room, it must be really fun going from the fridge to the stove to the dishwasher to the sink. They have no drawers in this kitchen at all. I don't know who "planned" this kitchen, but it was someone with no familiarity with the concepts of cooking, eating, washing, or storing food and cooking equipment. I wish they were getting Vern. This room actually needs an architect, not just a decorator. Amy and Michael say that nothing is off-limits. Amy: "We pretty much like to let artists be artists." "Artists"? Snerk. Michael: "Yeah, I would much rather see what they come up with, than have them confined by something we didn't want them to do." Amy laughs: "Yeah, their ideas have to be better than ours." Sure thing.
