Hildi comes in with a piece of foam behind her back, and says that the room is going to be a nightmare to paint because the walls and ceiling are in bad condition: cracked, and with lots of paint drips from previous paint jobs. She announces: "But it will look good once we finish and put this foam on the floor!" She's got a 26" square of thin, charcoal grey foam. She and Michael slip off their shoes and dance on it. Hildi singsongs: "So, they can only come in this room barefoot." I'm sure she's planning to glue those to the floor. I hope there's a special place in hell for people who glue things to wooden floors. What am I talking about? Hildi probably has a spread in hell the size of Versailles. Michael thinks it's awesome. Michael probably won't be the one trying to figure out how to clean it. Amy joins them and they all hop around on the foam in a tight circle, giggling. Michael has toenail polish on, but it kinda looks like he already mucked up his pedicure a bit.
Gabe and Lee worry that the colour might be a little too fresh and bright for Amy and Michael, but think they'll like it.
Hildi does her paint reveal. In the can, it's fuchsia. But I think nothing looks more different in the can from how they do on the wall than red-based colours, so who knows? Hildi's team thinks it's awesome. They debate whether it's pink or purple. Hildi mumbles about a "palace...with foam" as she paints a little crown on the wall. A crown? Well, I guess that's a hint about the drag-queeny direction of the room.
Twelve and a half minutes: time for Mippy to show up. And there she is, hassling Gabe and Lee about the mess of turmeric on the countertop. Or maybe she's more alarmed by the "Kia love" sentiment it expresses. She fusses about the mess she just got finished cleaning up and says they're "naughty" and "bad." Gabe smiles, sticks his butt out slightly, and slaps his ass firmly a couple of times. MPDP: "No, I'm not giving you a spanking. You'll like it too much." They giggle. She asks them for their verdict on "Santa Fe." Um, this orange and white is supposed to be "Santa Fe"? They like it.
Hildi says she bought high gloss paint, because she really wanted "the effect with the lights." They're installing a track light. Now that she sees the condition of the walls, she realizes high gloss paint wasn't such a hot idea. Huh -- less than pristine walls in an old house. Who'd have thunk it? In the background, you can see they've painted the name "Lee" under the crown. Hildi decides, "It is what it is...and it'll work." She really believes that by declaring something, it makes it so. I think I'll see if that works for me. I'll just go around telling everyone my mortgage is paid off.
