Cut to a restaurant, where Tru and Luc are having their "date." Except they seem to have been seated near some sort of bussing station, and the sound of clattering plates and silverware is just so loud that they can barely hear each other. No, really. Really. Their date is being ruined by silverware. You can see the extras in the background -- they're just stacking and unstacking plates for no reason in order to make enough noise to drown out their conversation. Wait, why am I complaining? They make boring small talk about how Luc got into photography (he likes taking pictures, amazingly enough), and why Tru is still single (like, she just broke up with somebody recently, and why the hell does a woman have to have a reason why she doesn't have a boyfriend?). Tru responds with some comment by Lindsay that Tru always picks the biggest loser in a roomful of guys, before realizing that isn't exactly the smartest thing to say to the guy that you've decided to go out on a date with. She starts the whole "by 'loser,' I didn't mean you, of course" retraction, but then her cell phone rings. It's Lindsay, calling to whine about her awful experience with Boss Handsy. She rejected him, so he busted her down to secretary. Oh, poor Lindsay. You shouldn't have taken him all the way back to the '20s, before they had sexual harassment laws. You should just count yourself lucky that he didn't respond to your rejection by beating you with a rod the thickness of his thumb. Tru doesn't have time to say "multimillion-dollar lawsuit" what with Luc there, so she promises they'll "fix this" later. Could there be a clearer case? He comes on to her in a public location where there are likely witnesses to the fact that they were together, and he demotes her that very night? Part of the problem with this series, besides the wretched writing, is the ridiculous speed at which some things have to happen because each episode takes place in a single day. Meredith takes a drug test, it comes out positive, and she gets fired, all in one evening. Lindsay gets sexually harassed by her boss and demoted the instant she turns him down. It's ridiculous.
