"There are forces beyond even my control. If I meet the true death without having at least kissed you, Sookie Stackhouse, that would be my biggest regret." Which, in addition to being WTF of the highest magnitude, also sounds suspiciously like a suicide note. So he says goodbye and they kiss, and it's a struggle at first but quickly turns awesome, and then stupid Sookie interrupts the kissing to go, "Okay I get it, I'm irresistible and intoxicating, but keeping things from me does not exactly help your cause. Tell me why I shouldn't trust Bill." Stupid, stupid Sookie Stackhouse. And then again, right before he can tell her, Pam appears: "Blah blah vampire emergency blah."
Pam is pissed because the solution to Eric's impending doom is staring them in the face, and instead of turning it over to Russell, or at least using it as a bargaining chip, he is making out with it. "He's gonna get her anyway, sooner or later," she swears, and then makes the more salient point that Eric has lost his damn mind. "You're choosing a human over yourself, Eric? Over me?" Ouch. We know how he feels about Pam; how they feel about each other. But these hard times, again, have really upped his wit: "Your lack of sentiment has always been your most admirable quality. Do not disappoint me now." Word. How many times a day do you want to say that to somebody? So many.
"You would have said and done anything to save Godric," Pam says, which sends his brain spinning into a whole new direction I'm not sure I fathom yet. Number one, don't say Godric unless you're going for drama and doing it right, which she is. And number two, how dare Eric think he loved Godric any more than Pam loves him, which is intensely beautiful to think about. But also... I have an idea but it makes so much sense I don't want to talk about it yet. It's a very Eric kind of plan, if I'm right. And anyway, this is the more major part of Pam's speech: "I have no interest in inheriting your farm on Irlande. That place is a windy shithole. If you're not gonna give him Sookie, at least figure out how to use her, and fast."
