Yoko, Oh No!

Episode Twenty-Eight (1) - Annie Blackburn makes a splash at the Miss Twin Peaks pageant and wins the opportunity to get the hell off the show with the same high level of non-sequitur at which she appeared.

Romancing the stone

Episode Twenty-Seven - Cooper makes it a love thing with Yoko, twirling around on bar stools and dancing and smiling and not wearing a tie. Which I guess is still better than not wearing a shirt at all. Ben Horne, I'm looking in your exposed-torsoed direction. Just not for too long, if I can possibly help it.

"Windom's Angels" just doesn't have the same ring to it

Episode Twenty-Three - But nevertheless, that's just what they are. The Goofiest Serial Killing Chess Player In History makes contact with three lovely ladies of Twin Peaks and entices them to meet each other at the Roadhouse. That takes an hour.

Scream '90

Episode Sixteen - The unraveling moments of the "Who Killed Laura Palmer" story arc play out like cheap horror, from the when-will-he-strike-again near misses to the bait-and-switch arrest to the demonic possession, head-spinning Emmy clip at the end. Elsewhere, more filler than a full-service gas station.

The Djb Fiftieth Recap Spectacular

Episode Twelve - Though he didn't mention it anywhere in the recap, Djb celebrates his half-century MBTV recapping mark with a second season episode that actually doesn't suck at all. Quiet party for me. Cakeless, quiet party and no one came. Stupid party.

Episode Nine - Briggs (and not even the hot one) shows up at Cooper's hotel room to very slowly outline the downfall of the next nineteen episodes. Meanwhile, Djb goes head to head with an alleged "singer" who may want to heed the recapper's sage and learned karaoke advice before he decides to open his mouth on camera. Ever, ever again.

But What I Really Want To Do Is Overdirect

Episode Eight (2) - An almost disappointingly unsuck-filled second season intro sees David Lynch recognizing himself as a quirky directorial force in Hollywood and doing anything -- ANYTHING -- to make sure this opinion of him becomes entrenched in popular culture. It does, Mr. Lynch. It does. You can point the camera away from the moody black phone now. We've seen it from enough angles, thanks.

Out With The Good

Episode Seven (1) - The first season ends with a dramatic set of twists designed to help the viewer forget that much of the future of the show reflects the sorry state of the Packard Mill: the flaming wreckage of a once-great institution which killed or destroyed the lives of too many people. The continually resilient Josie Packard not among them, sadly.

Putting The "Fun" Back In Funeral

Episode Three - Albert livens up what could have been a real downer of an autopsy with rants designed to keep the slack-jawed yokels of Twin Peaks at bay. Despite a subplot-heavy second half about people who will eventually becaome annoying but aren't quite yet, the burial episode puts Laura Palmer in the ground and me on the floor, collapsed in helpless, dead-girl-induced giggles.
