When Jeremy sets her straight, Elena suggests they wait until Damon returns to figure out a new plan. Jeremy is appalled that Elena still trusts Damon after all that's gone on. The whole point of this scene is to move Rebekah and Stefan from uneasy teammates to sex buddies. Rebekah insists their time in the '20s was fun because they didn't care about anything and only did what felt good: drinking, feeding, sex. Stefan disagrees.
