How I Met Your Mother

Mystic Grill: Caroline says to Bonnie, "So, you're not going to tell me what happened?" Bonnie purses her lips and thinks for a moment, and then: "I did something bad, Caroline. And I lied about it." Caroline wants to know: "To who?" Bonnie: "To Elena. I pretended to do something I didn't really do." Caroline shudders. "What are you talking about?" Bonnie: "I couldn't do what she wanted me to do. It wasn't right. Grams would have never done it, so I couldn't either. But when Elena finds out... she's never going to forgive me." DUN!

Oh Bonnie, no. I can't believe Bonnie is a traitor, and yet this has been set up -- just beautifully -- since Sheila's death, and even before -- since Damon drank Bonnie's blood and Elena told her the truth.

I've been wanting to see Elena get her comeuppance for asking Damon to compel the Germ, yet once it happened (and because it happened after Jeremy told Anna that he was half grateful for his sister's deception) it made me angry at him. I never expected to feel that way. It's just that -- considering he told Anna that he sort of appreciated the deception, his hard-ass response is a little difficult to accept.

Speaking of Germ and Anna -- think back to last week's episode. Anna told him that he was her "weakness." His face looked awfully conflicted as he hugged her, tonight. Will he be not only her weakness but her fatal flaw? I think it would be great story telling if he is. They'll be today's Johnathan and Pearl. But... but... but I love Malese Jow and I like Anna and Jeremy together. I'm so conflicted. Gah.

It's no surprise to most of us that John Gilbert seems to be Elena's other biological contributor, but it was nice to receive confirmation, just the same. What do you think of Isobel? For 90% of the episode, she was an ice-cold burnout, but in her private moments with both Alaric and John, she revealed so much more. Damon nailed it. She's flipped the switch. Pressed the button. But maybe she's not as good at that as she'd like us to believe. She's certainly amping up the heartless act in order to steer her daughter away from making the same mistakes she made. Speaking as a fan, I'm horribly angry and upset that she and John want to kill our beautiful Brothers Salvatore. Speaking as a mother -- I'm thrilled. Kill. Kill. Kill again. Prediction: We'll learn she was an abused child who never got over surrendering her biological daughter for adoption. I'm betting she was forced out by her parents when she got pregnant.
