Jeremy sits on the ground near the bleachers, in the dark, holding something to his head -- a cold beer can, maybe? Mossy Manse: Stefan tells his diary how he thought there was hope that he could reach whatever remained of his brother's humanity, but now he knows that there's no goodness or love in there, and he's just a monster who must be stopped.

Gilbert House: Damon stands over Elena's bed and gently traces her cheek with his index finger. When she stirs, he's gone. She sits up. Puts her diary on her nightstand, and shuts off the light as Moby's cover of New Order's "Temptation" sings us home.
