Gods Frakkin' Dammit. Those were the words that literally came out of my mouth when I read the news this morning that Katee Sackhoff was going to be doing four episodes of Nip/Tuck next season. I'm thrilled that Starbuck has another big gig since BSG's coming to an end (though I can't really talk about that... still in denial). However, this news is good for her, but bad for me because now I've got to start watching Nip/Tuck again.
I loved Nip/Tuck for the first two seasons. Watched it religiously... then the whole Carver thing (which I know some people loved) just kind of lost me. I just like to see the freaky people who want plastic surgery and then to see how messed up the lives of Sean and Christian are. I keep checking in, watching an episode or two a season, hoping I'll regain my love for it, but so far no luck. I've liked certain stories or characters, but by in large, I've realized that I've got way too many shows to watch and not enough time to watch them. This one doesn't make the cut.
Which is why this whole Katee Sackhoff thing is going to drive me crazy because now I have to tune in because she's so awesome. I suffered through more Bionic Woman than I should have because of her, and with no BSG on the air (though they are teasing me with rumored TV movies), I'll be searching for my Starbuck fix. She's more addictive than my venti vanilla iced coffee with skim milk and splenda. I adore her. I'd follow her to the ends of the earth even if it mean certain death. More importantly I'd watch her in anything. Seriously. Want to get me to tune into NCIS? Throw this girl in a uniform and have her sweet talk Mark Harmon. I'd even watch 'Til Death if she was on it. So with that, I'm going to start watching the FX series again (at least for the episodes she's on) since she'll be playing a nurse who gives Sean a run for his money. If they can find a way for her to literally kick his ass, that would be a sight to behold.
