Tony Hale is moving up in the world. He's gone from a one-handed mama's boy to the go-to guy for recurring roles on sitcoms. The hot property (never thought we'd be using those words to describe the erstwhile Buster Bluth) has just landed not one, but two gigs this fall on this season's frosh hits, Chuck and Samantha Who?. To say that I'm personally delighted to see him getting some recognition is an understatement. I love it when my favorite character actors get new roles on actual TV shows instead of say poor Wallace from my beloved Veronica Mars who has been relegated to doing Orbit commercials.
On Chuck, the magnificent Mr. Hale is going to be an efficiency expert at the Buy More. I cannot wait to see him butting heads with the slacktastic Morgan or trying to figure out why Chuck and Casey randomly leave during business hours for unexplained reasons. Because you know that it is only a matter of time before he catches on to the weird government goings-on that are happening behind the Nerd Herd desk.
Over on Samantha Who? he'll be Kelly Bundy's doctor. Not really a lot of details, so we can't say whether he'll be her ob/gyn or her shrink, but it seems likely that he'll be helping in some capacity with her amnesia. This show needs another goofball to match the wackiness that Melissa McCarthy brings to the table, and a dose of testosterone could really even out the estrogen overload and give this show an extra dose of comic genius.
