Katherine Heigl withdrew her name from the Emmy submissions this year because she hates the Grey's Anatomy writing staff and doesn't care who knows about it. She told the L.A. Times:

"I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials."

First of all, wow, what an asshole. Secondly, hahahahahahaha she's in so much trouble now! If I were those writers I'd be hard at work coming up with a very special 3-hour "Izzie Gets Trapped in a Sandstorm Covered in Snakes and Spiders" episode of Grey's Anatomy right now. I'd "give the material to warrant an Emmy nomination" her to death if I were them. In fact, I don't even want them wasting their time thinking up ways to torture her; they've been through enough!
