Anyway, ReGenesis has won some Gemini Awards (Canadian Emmys) and is kind of a fun ride. There are a few too many sequences of people staring at test tubes and microscopes and thinking, but it totally takes advantage of that Numb3rs thing where they dumb down the math (in this case science) so the viewers at home can understand advanced theories by having the lead genius in charge (Outerbridge) explain things in layman's terms. Here, (at least in the first episode) David (Outerbridge) makes his snotty teenage daughter cringe by using spirit fingers to demonstrate how the ebola virus works. It should be pointed out that the bratty daughter in question is played by Ellen Page. Yeah, its Juno. She's actually a lot like her Juno character, with the pout and the woe is me attitude, except she has shorter hair and abandonment issues and less hip lingo.

It's not a bad little show. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the first season (despite the fact that I'm kind of over Ellen Page) since the second episode apparently has more people dying from a toxic, engineered virus and focuses on a little teenager who think he's been cloned. Oh, and the fact that this had a mature rating bodes well for the future. Bonus!
