So it's official -- Chris "Mr. Big" Noth is leaving Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and will be replaced by Jeff "The Fly" Goldblum. I know, your head is exploding, right? It's the end of an era! The dude was on the original Law & Order from 1990-1995, then came back to CI ten years later! He's a, whaddayacallit, an edifice! Of course, Goldblum is no slouch. Not only was he a Jewish cowboy in Buckaroo Banzai and a cocaine dealer in Deep Cover, but he was actually a cop for seven episodes of 2007's short-lived Raines.
A cross between Ghost Whisperer and Life, Raines followed Goldblum's Det. Raines, who, ever since the shootout that claimed his partner, could see and talk to visual manifestations of murder victims. Not ghosts -- they're in his mind, so they can't give him any information he doesn't have -- more like imaginary friends, but they help him use his intellect to work through the case. When he solves their murders, they go away, but his dead partner sticks around... possibly because the man Raines killed wasn't the real killer. It would have been a great angle to explore, along with his contentious relationship with his involuntarily appointed therapist Madeleine Stowe, but it was sadly not to be. Still, the seven episodes were well worth watching. Start with episode number one, right here:

Thank you fred. I just hope the residents hear the truth. They have been lied to by so many they do not trust those who try to get into oifcfe. Abuse of the voters has become the norm. Morristown is broke. If taxes go up in 2010 I am aware that so many will not be able to pay and stay. We are over taxed here. We do need a tax revolution like our great leaders staged so many years ago. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Will people wake up? Will they just get fooled again? The biggest problem in mortiseown? The voters to not know what is really going on. They have no idea how bad the spending and budget problems are . When the bills come they will find out! Could one person solve all of them? With the help of the community and some sacriface I belive so. But it has to be done now! We can't lose any more time or rack up anymore debt.
The genius store called, they're runnnig out of you.
