Apparently the god of all cheesy teen shows of yore has seen fit to grant my fondest wish and put the Nickelodeon shows Clarissa Explains It All (which I just gleefully babbled about the other day) and Hey Dude on iTunes! There will be a bunch of other shows, like The Amanda Show, Rugrats (or as my 2-year-old likes to call it "The Babies"), Rocko's Modern Life (he's a wallaby) and Doug, available for download as part of Nick Rewind. I know what I'm buying myself for my birthday this year.
Now if they could just find it in their hearts to put You Can't Do That on Television or Out of Control up for sale, I'd be over the moon. Not just because those two shows were supposedly where young teen Alanis Morissette and Dave Coulier (of Full House "fame") met and dated and then split up causing her to write "You Outta Know," but because when I was young I really had a crush on Alasdair and I think it would be fun to look back at him now, and I kind of miss that crazy Diz lady. As I already explained once today, weird childhood in Maine... not a hell of a lot to do. TV was my life. Look where it lead me. Ooh, and one more, if I'm making a wish list, Fifteen. That slow-moving soap was like an addictive drug to me and Laura Harris (who moved on to 24 and the long lost Dead Like Me) used to be on it. Note to execs: If you make it available... I will buy it. Teen shows are like my Field of Dreams.
