Well, I guess this conceivably paves the way for Gio.... or not. Christopher Gorham, aka hottie geek accountant Henry, is heading off to Harper's Island (the CBS midseason show) and won't be back on Betty this year. OK, I can understand that. I mean, Henry's got a baby and lives halfway across the country, that would just not work for the plucky Betty Suarez... no matter how much she may want it to. So maybe Betty chose to head off with Gio to Italy in the finale? It's possible, but sandwich-making hottie Freddy Rodriguez is only expected to be on the show for one episode this season. Does this mean that the potential lovers had a spat while they were abroad? One can only hope. Either way it has to be more satisfying than who PJ picked on My Boys... at least I hope. If they pull that crap where Betty decides that she is going to chose herself instead of one of the two loverboys, I will officially be annoyed. That cliche is really, really getting overused lately.
But that's all to do about Ugly Betty; what about Gorham's actual new gig? Well, he's playing a husband-to-be who is conveniently named Henry. Why, oh why, do writers/showrunners/whoever insist on doing this to me? I have a hard enough time separating actors from their previous roles, and to give them the same name is mean. Sure it is possible that it was written as Henry before Gorham got the role, but couldn't someone change it? Really? Now everyone (and by that I mean me) is going to think that Henry dumped Betty and his baby for some new chicky in Seattle. This is almost worse than when Jared Padalecki (aka Gilmore Girls' Dean) started on Supernatural as Sam who had a brother Dean. It took me a whole season to not think of both of them as Deans. Why? Did they really need to name someone Dean? Was there a special significance? I've gotten over it (sort of) but here's hoping the Harper's Island powers that be, will reconsider his name. It isn't as if Henry is the most original name out there. Oh, and keep in mind that Jake (Gorham's character in Jake 2.0) and Harrison (his Popular moniker) are also off the table.
