Actually, it might not be. I'm not really sure what extortion is exactly, but I do know the 90210 writers are trying to persuade Luke Perry to return to the show, against his very publicly stated will, by writing Dylan McKay into the show as a deadbeat dad. A deadbeat dad! That's one of the worst things you can be! You see, Jennie Garth's character, Kelly Taylor, has a four-year-old son on the show whose father it will be revealed is Dylan McKay. So basically, either Luke Perry comes to claim this fictional kid he had through no fault of his own, or the character that made his career is a toddler-abandoning bastard for all eternity.
While I do love Luke Perry and will always have a huge place in my heart for Dylan McKay, I don't want him to come back. Now that Kelly and Brenda are both on the show, the writers would totally work that love triangle all over again, and honestly, my Brenda is better than that. She should be over Kelly stealing Dylan from her by now, and I'd hate to see her be a homewrecker or worse, wistfully looking after Kelly and Dylan in love, raising their son together happily ever after. Don't turn Brenda Walsh into the tabloids' interpretation of Jennifer Aniston is all I'm saying, CW. I can't bear it.
But alas, resistance is futile. I'm sure Luke Perry will indeed be back, for the money if nothing else, and all the aforementioned storyline nightmares will occur. I have two questions though: Where is Brandon in all this and for the love of Pete, why has no one asked Valerie to come back?!
