Is Daytime Talk Ready for a Scientologist?

Is Daytime Talk Ready for a Scientologist? King of Queens alum Leah Remini is the latest actor trying to make it in the harsh world of daytime talk. The project is coming together now over at CBS and THR has heard rumblings that, while it may be a daytime show, it probably won't be "along the lines of a traditional talk show," whatever the hell that means. I guess we'll see, but the question of course is whether Remini is a Tyra Banks or if she's a Megan Mullally. Let's weigh the pros and cons, shall we?

Obvious pros are that she is beautiful and genuinely funny, with that straight-shooter way she has about her, and she wouldn't have a problem securing big guests, being that she's a hardcore Scientologist and all. But that's the thing -- she is a hardcore Scientologist. Not only does that freak a lot of people out, it also means she's likely to come down on the un-mainstream side of a lot of parenting issues, which won't go over so well with the stay-at-home moms and dads watching. I suppose the childless and unemployed members of the audience probably won't mind (and I know all too well, that's a huge portion of the audience), but can you really win in daytime without the soccer moms? Personally, I don't think so, so she's either planning to keep her trap shut about many of her personal beliefs (this is highly likely), or this show is going to be seriously good blog fodder as well as seriously short-lived.

I personally like Leah Remini so I hope her talk show succeeds, but I agree that if she actually "speaks her mind," her show might go down in flames. I'm looking forward to see who will be guests on her show & what topics she'll talk about...Good Luck Leah!
