BLOGS
Every so often we come across a news item here at TWoP that just makes us wonder why certain individuals in show business do not seem to require sleep. They have way more jobs than would seem necessary to provide a decent living, and they show no signs of stopping. I've accused ABC in-house creative genius Greg Berlanti of being one such (possibly undead) individual in the past, but today some Mario Lopez information was announced that had me asking, in my best In Living Color sketch voice, "How many jobs you got, Mario Lopez?"
The host of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, Extra correspondent, indiscriminate TV series guest-starrer, zillion time rom-com TV movie star and perpetual emcee of nearly every beauty pageant that happens has signed to host MTV's new reality series Top Pop Group, which will give nine unsigned groups the chance to win a $100,000 prize and the title of Top Pop Group, based on viewer votes.
While I'm happy for Mario Lopez and all his success, how is it possible for him to have yet another job?! When is he going to do all these things at once without ever taking a break to sleep? And what if a new pageant pops out of nowhere? It's not going to host itself. Wait, what am I saying? No matter where he is, no matter what kind of scheduling conflict he has, if a new pageant spontaneously finds its way to the airwaves, I am certain Mario Lopez will find a way to host it. How? I swear this guy's got an evil twin. There is some Multiplicity-type mischief going on with these Hollywood workaholics. Either that or he's taken the classic In Living Color sketch "Hey Mon!" as some sort of professional challenge. Watch below and judge for yourself, ya lazy bum.
