VH1's Fall Reality Lineup Bites Everyone's Steez Kathy Griffin did it. Sarah Silverman did it. Now raunch-tastical comedienne Margaret Cho is throwing her hat into the TV ring with The Cho Show, a reality show airing on VH1 that sounds, based on the description, like a mix between My Life on the D List and Celebrity Circus: "This VH1 series will follow the irrepressible Margaret Cho and her eccentric entourage as she fights to be herself in an industry that in the past wanted her to be something other than herself. The series will touch upon all aspects of Margaret's 'anything goes' lifestyle, from the strained and awkward moments provided by her somewhat traditional Korean parents to the more irreverent and outrageous moments shared with her colorful cast of friends and colleagues."

In other VH1-biting-the-concept-of-shows-that-already-exist news, the channel has announced it will be adding a suspiciously Stylista-like program to its new fall lineup in the guise of Glam God with Vivica A. Fox, which is described as a "new competition series that seeks the next hot celebrity stylist, giving the winner a chance to launch a career along with $100,000." And Vivica is associated with this show why? Because she's the pinnacle of celebrity style? I do not compute.

Listen, I love me some VH1 reality trash. Anyone who can honestly say that Rock of Love doesn't provide hours of low-brow entertainment is either lying or a humorless ass. But why do the producers insist on rehashing minutely-tweaked versions of shows that we've already seen? Have all the reality show conceits been exhausted, thus dooming us to endless variations on the same handful of themes? I find it hard to believe that the station that brought us such innovative programs as Breaking Bonaduce and Celebracadabra is fresh out of new ideas. Producers need to get off their collective lazy arses and give me something I can work with here!

Oh who am I kidding? I'ma watch them dumb thangs anyhow.
