Dee Snider is one Twisted Guest-Star

If you haven't been watching IFC's Z Rock, about a rock band in New York City that plays gigs by night and kids' parties by day, you may want to tune in this Sunday. The show -- a hybrid of Flight of the Conchords, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Curb Your Enthusiasm, but with a lot fewer words in the title -- has a new guest-star in every episode, from rockers like Sebastian Bach and Dave Navarro to comedians like Dave Attell and Gilbert Gottfried, and this week's is no exception. I'd build up to it some more, but as you've probably already read in the title, it's Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider.

Dee enters the picture when Z02 (a.k.a. the Z Brothers) threaten to break up, as guitarist Paulie Z pursues a solo career and seeks his advice. While he's doing that, bassist David Z becomes a model and drummer Joey Cassata, uh... does something else. The episode description sounds like he just masturbates a lot, but it may have been a poor choice of words. Considering there are more episodes to come and the band has upcoming tour dates on its website, I'm assuming they pull a Flight of the Conchords and get back together at the end. ...Did I mention they're a real band who also happen to be funny actors, and the show is loosely based on their real life? Because they are. Except they have real rock songs as well as funny rock songs, plus some pretty funny kids' songs, too, like the inappropriate blowing-out-the-candles ditty "Blow It Hard."

Check out a clip of Dee Snider explaining where "Burn in Hell" came from below, then catch the whole thing Sunday night at 11:30 on IFC.
