Don Draper and Liz Lemon Are Going to Make Out! And I am eating my words. Ausiello is reporting that Jon Hamm is in "advanced talks to do a multi-episode arc on 30 Rock," and that he will be playing Lemon's neighbor and love interest. Oh my! After doing nothing but bitch incessantly to anyone who would listen about how much I hate this season's obsession with stuntcasting, I have to admit I'm totally checkmated by this news. Jon Hamm is perfect for 30 Rock, and the rest of you yahoo showrunners out there looking for guest stars, take note: this is how you do it. Oprah? No. Lindsay Lohan? Double no. Us loyal viewers will be perfectly fine with stuntcasting (or at least, we'll be more willing to adjust to it) as long as it's a legitimate actor who's going to show up and, oh I don't know, actually play a character and do so effectively, rather than just show up and phone it in in order to cash a paycheck and desperately cling to his or her fleeting fame. Just saying. Anyway, how do you feel about this? I can't imagine anybody wouldn't be excited for it, but maybe I'm wrong.

I was irrationally upset at the season fanale of Mad Men, not because it wasn't awesome... but because now I had no excuse not to watch Brothers & Sisters anymore. The news that Jon Hamm will be turning up the heat with Tina Fey was just wat I needed! Both Jon and Tina are too awesome for words and I can't imagine that their pairing would be bad... I just wonder what odd flaw they are going to give his character...

This news is too wonderful even to comprehend.

I'm chainlightning, and I approve this rumor, based off of Hamm's hilarious turn as host of SNL.

Yes, yes, yes!! Not that I need an excuse to watch 30 Rock, but now I don't have to wait till (gasp!) next summer to see Jon Hamm!!

Can't even breathe - this is seriously the best TV news ever. My favourite two shows colliding! As the kids would say: *OMFG*!

I'm not sure one could really call Oprah's fame fleeting exactly.

This is great news. As much as the stunt casting initially disturbed me, I realize that more eyeballs need to watch 30 Rock and if Tina Fey and the writers can maintain the funny, I'm ok with it.

I'm with chainlightning. Any man who can hilariously impersonate James Mason is (super)fine by me (see also: Eddie Izzard).

Hamm demonstrated some mad talent on SNL, so I wouldn't even call it a stunt casting. Just a guest role for a good actor.

The Beeper King is a hard act to follow, but I'm sure Hamm can pull it off.

Now everyone just remember: if it feels like ham, don't wipe your ass with it! HA HA HA HA! Best throwaway line ever, delivered by -- who knew??? -- a comic genius! I cannot wait to see what Tina will come up with for this arc!

This is awesome news - I thought he was great on SNL last week (although the writers could have probably come up with even better stuff for Jon). I fairly recently discovered 30 Rock, and love Tina and Alec. With Jon Hamm, I'll be glued to my set!
