BLOGS
Saturday night marked the moment me and my loins had been waiting for: Jon Hamm's hosting gig on SNL! As expected, Hamm looked all manner of sexy-hot. And as expected, there were a goodly number of Mad Men references ... like in his opening monologue when he attempted to lasso in more viewers by explaining for those who didn't know that Mad Men was about ad execs in the 60s ... who dance! With the stars!
The first outright MM parody featured guest spots from Elizabeth Moss and John Slattery (though true to form no one cheered for Peggy the way they did for Roger -- poor Peggy!). The high points of this sketch were Bill Hader's Sal impersonation and Don Draper's attempt to wax poetic -- like he did for the Kodak carousel -- about a Hula hoop with shoulder straps:
The better parody was Don Draper's Guide To Picking Up Women, which sagely advises one to "look fantastic in a suit," "look fantastic in casual wear," "be uncannily successful at your job" and "drink and smoke constantly."
But my favorite sketch of the evening was Jon Hamm's John Ham, which as Mindy and I discussed, just might rival Bob Loblaw's Law Blog in ingenious wordplay awesomeness. Sadly, there is no Hulu clip of this little gem so if you missed it, you are basically screwed.

I liked both of those a lot, but Hamm during the Vincent Price sketch made me laugh the hardest! .."Where are the whores?" Classic
Besides the Jon Hamm's John Ham sketch, the juvenile in me got a lot of giggles out of the guy running for Congress in Butts, NY.
"Put a Finger in Butts!" - HEEEE!
"Don't ask me, I'm just a womwan I'm not allowed to own a watch."
Best line of the sketch

I loved Jon Hamm in the Vincent Price sketch the most, I think. And in the A-Holes sketch I have to admit I was wishing Elisabeth Moss had more to do. She watched "Joan" walk away like one of the guys, and I just know she could have been hilarious if they'd given her more.
That was the best SNL in a long time. Regina!
sorry, Ragina!
You can see the Jon Hamm's John Ham at SNL's website. Well worth a trip over there.
John Ham is on Hulu, look under commercials.
