I don't have a ton of clear memories of V, the miniseries, but I know that I watched it, and I loved those uniforms. I know it is probably sacrilege, but in my head V is kind of mish-moshed with the original Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers and Alien Nation. I watched them all religiously, but the details are a little bit fuzzy. I did however have these amazing V puffy stickers that were the total highlight of my sticker collection. But while I adore the new Battlestar Galactica (I mean, worship, obsess over, love) I'm a little skeptical about the idea of a modern day V remake, mostly because I'm sure if I check my personal email my friend Michael has written me seven emails about why this is the worst idea of all time because he absolutely loved the original. He's so devoted that I recently gave my puffy stickers to him, now that my sticker collection has become less important in my life.
It does have a few possibly good things going for it:
-- Good source material about aliens invading earth and trying to take over our water supply.
-- The guy remaking it, Scott Peters, has worked on Jericho and The 4400 and started out on The Outer Limits.
-- Cool aliens that look like lizards.
-- According to Variety, Peters says that V 2.0 "will still focus on what happens when the masses have blind faith in their leaders." So he'll have plenty of current subject matter to work with.
-- Did I mention the cool V uniforms? They were way hot.
-- And knowing that it is coming gives me the push I need to rewatch the classic series before the new one lands on TV. I always work better with a deadline.

That's not sacrilege; the original BSG, V, Buck Rogers, and Alien Nation were kind of a mish-mosh of each other.
