Basically it is a compilation of goodies from the Torchwood magazine, which is a UK publication, and they apparently get access to all the cast and crew. So there's a wonderful interview that takes place before season 2 with John Barrowman, as well as a great one with James Marsters. And there's a whole section on the H-O-T kiss/fight between Capt. Jack and Capt. John, with info on how they show the scene, etc. And lots of pictures.

There's also an entire episode guide to Season 2, which is helpful to keep track of your monsters. It's filled with analysis of each episode, random info and trivia and other fun (for fans) sidebars. They've got an entire section devote to Gwen's wedding, with more interviews with all of the characters, and even a picture of the invitation. And my favorite was a step-by-step layout of Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones!) getting transformed into an old lady. It's really cool with all the prosthetics. Basically, all in all, the Torchwood-centric stuff is great, well-presented info and behind-the-scenes scoopage.

Where they started to lose me a little bit was during the fictional short stories that were written for the magazine. Not to say that they aren't good -- most of them are written by authors like Steven Savile and Trevor Baxendale, who do a lot of this sort of thing for Doctor Who, taking the characters and writing extra adventures with permission from the creators. I've read a lot of this sort of thing, back when I couldn't get enough Buffy, and I've read several of the Doctor Who novels, but they're always missing the spark of a real script. They're good, but not quite the same. Plus, there's lengthier novels out there which really have more fun with the characters. That said, if you like that sort of thing, this is something you'd be into. Especially the one about Ianto and his own little shop of horrors, alien-style.

Definitely worth the price for die-hard fans, even if you don't sit and read the extra stories. It's a nice thing to add to your geeky collection.
