This was only topped by True Blood the other day, which, moments after they revealed that one of the characters was a shape-shifting dog (which I would have known for weeks and weeks even if I hadn't read the books already), they played the classic Rufus Thomas song "Walkin' the Dog." Which I just thought was a totally genius pairing.

This is so much better than 90210 and many other current shows that just seem insistent on foisting whatever popular music they can get rights to into whatever scene they are creating. Don't even get me started on having fake nightclubs/parties with random bands who happen to be on a label that the parent company of the show owns. I find uses like this refreshing and much more creative. So I say to True Blood and Big Bang, keep up the good work.
